Let's try something NEW....

Wow over two weeks since I blogged, I could tell you we were on holiday, but that’s not so, I could tell you I was busy with family, well that could be true, I could tell you a whole bunch of reasons for not blogging, but mostly I have to say I was just plain lazy…I was making beads & teaching classes, seeing movies (Must see Inception & Salt, both good)…buying a bunch of new glass related goodies which I will list below…we also attended Grace & Frank’s (my friends & studio partners) daughter’s wedding which was awesome…the whole day was lovely & it felt like there was a lot of love & romance in the air, check out some of the photos on our studio’s blog at www.Gracefulstucoms.blogspot.com Grace used a cool program called Smile Box to do a slide show of the wedding photos which is rather cool...

I have been adding new beads every other day, so there are a lot of new beads to check out in my etsy shop, more to come every day or so…

what I am most excited about this week is using Copper Cut Outs from Katie of Katie Lee Designs in my beads, they are so very cool, I have used copper wire and copper mesh in my beads before, but not cut outs, these are just perfect, I just love the fact that Katie is making these for us to use, the cost is very reasonable too, you get a bag of 25 cut outs perfectly sized for use in beads for use under $3.00, she has a tons of designs…below is a photo of one of my new beads with two of her cut outs…I love them…you will too…

Speaking of new glass goodies, check out the new frit book from our friend Val Cox, called Frit Secrets-Condensed, this is a abbreviated version of the original Frit Secrets by Val Cox, which is the best companion for all frit users & lovers…while you are at it check out her great frit too...

Last new item, not new, but just a reminder that Graceful Studios is now selling the ever popular Squeeze me Right Mashers in the new larger size named Big Brother Mashers, check them out I have one of every masher they make and love them all….also don’t repeat this it’s a secret but a new masher is being developed as we speak…

Now for the winner of last time I had a bead for giveaway goes to Stefanies Sammelsurim from Germany…please send your address…for this week I have the delectable set of 3 beads olive green encased silvered ivory organic beads with a copper cut out leaf on each side…ready for fall or any other time of the year…enter to win this set by making a comment on this post or sending me an email at

A quick reminder that Heather Trimlet & Pati Walton’s classes are coming up fast and I think Pati’s class is full but we are taking names for the our waiting list…need more info check out our blog or send us email Jelveh or Grace

Thanks for stopping by…life is GOOD…

Jelveh

Peace

Wow! What a treat your new blog post is! The two bead pictures are terrific eye candy (the green is one of my very favorite colors) and I learned fun things with the content of the message. Right now, I'm an avid fan of lampwork... haven't ventured into the studio to play yet. But I am getting very fascinated and having a great time learning about it... and I've scoped out the local bead shop that has facilities to teach glass and rents studio time.... so one of these days, maybe. And now I know about "mashers"... thanks, Teach. The Copper Cut Outs are still a mystery to me, though... I'm guessing that the crab in the bead is the cutout and that it changes color as you work with it. Hopefully you'll share a little more info about that with us soon. Thanks for the fun!! Dorothy

Wow Jelveh, How cool is the copper cutout process! Is there any limit to what goes on inside that brain of yours? I certainly hope not, you have taken lampworking to a whole new level. I love the olive with the goldstone through it, beautiful.....Hope all is well with hubby and the new babies..we're at 26 weeks now and Stacey is doing better, I'll be glad to breath deeply again soon. Love all the new yummy, have my eye on several pieces. Take care, PEACE and LOVE

Hi
I love the copper cut outs! I used to do alot of scrapbooking and have been an instructor for kid's arts and crafts classes. So I have alot of paper punches. So I have been making my own cutouts. I work at Michaels and we have these cute little punches for $1.00. There just the right size for beads.
I love that bead with the crab cutout. It's like being at the beach. Take care and I be posting soon.

Hi Jelveh,
This week's bead is another work of art. Your imagination and creativity are astounding. Thank you for the bead I won a couple of weeks ago. I was very pleased when it showed up in the mail.

Your positive spirit is an inspration to us all.
