Friends in high places...

I have a friend that I met through beads, in that I met her while working at my studio several years ago, my work place was in a Hobby store at the time & folks would come by & watch me work...anyway she started buying beads from me, little did I know that she was an amazing person & a very talented jewelry designer in her own right...over time we became friends as it the case with me & beady people...I missed her lots while we were in England & just recently we have started to hang out again...we went to the movies the other night (the proposal) & out to dinner at Ricatoni's, we had a ton of fun...I love girls night out...here is a link to her shop on etsy & a few photos of her yummy work with my beads...oh yeah her name is Samantha...I also love her work so much that got all my mother's day gifts from her this year...if you need a great piece of one of kind jewelry, she is your girl...she finds & uses the coolest handmade silver findings & rare stones too in all her yummy art... Wednesday Beads & Update...

Hi all, lets see last you heard from me I was telling you about Iran & the people's up-rising against their barbarian regime, you have seen the news, what has happened can not be put back, so the people of Iran, in some way or another will get their justice & will get rid of their oppressive government...my family is doing well & they have lots of hope for the future& the good changes that will come...

As for beads I made some yummy ones this week, at least I think so, you can check them out in my etsy shop...also changed photos of last week beads, since obviously they were not good...

This past weekend on Saturday I went to the ISGB NorCal big meeting & bead Bazaar that was held at Arrow Springs...I went with my friend & glass bead maker artist Cindy Allen, who although drives way too fast, is always one of the most fun people to go to these events with...if I had driven we would still be on the way back...

For the first time in 15 months I got to mingle with my buddies, lovely people & glass artists such as Craig, Sharon Peters, Toni Lutman , Lisa Fletcher & Nanettet Marie , just to name a few...the most exciting part for me, besides the $600.00 in glass that I purchased & the fun I had catching up with every one's stories & telling mine, was seeing Kim Osibin & her beads, I am not kidding you when I tell you she is the mother of all silver glass beads, long before nice boutique companies made us Silver laden glass to make yummy beads with, this glass artist was doing it on her own...if you ever get a chance to own a Kim Osibin bead go for it, you will not be disappointed...below is a picture of my friend Cindy on the left & Kim on the right both wearing necklaces of Kim's beads...

you can get a hold of Kim at kimosibin@gmail.com Now to the winner of last week's bead, I kid you not it goes to Ginny from Fl. The girl is just that lucky I tell you...for this week I have the yummy bead I made with 2 new glass colors and some goldstone, it is about 30x25x8mm...enter to win by making a comment on this post...

thanks for stopping by...life is good for many of us...

Twitter Revolution & Beads...

I was born in Iran, my family left 31 years ago when I was 14 during the revolution that changed the life of 75 million Iranians, the old government of Iran, although considered a dictatorship by some, was in fact a 100 thousand times better than the oppressive violent one that took its place in 1979.

Forever it seems many Iranians world over, inside & out of the country have been waiting for the moment that would bring an end to this mad government & free them. A moment that would take Iran back to a time before the Islamic Republic was in charge, a time where Christians Jews & Muslims practiced their faith as they wished, a time that women worked & dressed as anyone in the west does, where men & women could walk down the street without being married, where women had rights & were treated not as 3rd class citizens...

What we see & hear in our media today about the protests against the fake elections, is perhaps the start of this change & thank goodness there is Twitter to let it all come out...so we all know what is going on inside the country, while reporters have been kicked out, cell phone towers shut off & satellite signals jammed...sadly as it looks like people want change, it is important to note even the guy people are protesting for was chosen by the supreme leader, who is the real guy in charge, to make change he has to go...a twitter revolution may just change the everyday life of 75 million people, who want the same thing you and I have, the right to live a happy free productive life...

On to beads...below is the photo of beads that I have coming today, I am listing them in my etsy shop as the day goes on, hopefully by 3:30pm California time I will have them all listed...

The winner of last week's bead is Melissa, please send me your address...enter to win this week's yummy bead by making a comment on this post...The colors are amazing and there is a lot of shine...a great focal...

Thanks for stopping by...life is good...

Earth Quake Weather & New Beads...

It’s a nice day here in Northern California…the sun keeps coming & going, in between I take pictures of beads & hope it will last only a few more minutes, the air is kind of warm not so cold, but the sky acts like it might rain any minute...we could use the rain here, summer has not even started & everything is already dry & parched. This kind of gray sky kind of warm weather I call Earth Quake weather, I know there is no such thing, but I swear every earth quake we have had here has been during this kind of weather...

This past week we saw the most funny movie Land of the lost, it was really funny & worth it, we also saw Disney’s Up, I cried & cried, loved the movie. Rest of the time I did a lot of shipping & on the weekend we mostly relaxed & enjoyed our life, oh yeah we bought a new bed & bed side tables, last year we had sold our furniture when we went to England, so it’s been kind of fun putting the house back together slowly...

I made some yummy beads too which you can find listed in my etsy shop, not as many as I would have liked to make, it’s still a bit hard for me to hang out at the torch for a long time & yesterday I cut & then burned my left index finger then burned my right index finger, just so you know this is not considered a bad day when it comes to bead making as this kind of thing can & does happen, a bad day would be when you drop a half rod of hot melted piece of glass down in the pocket of your (thank god) cotton apron & burn your phone a bit, so that’s when I stopped, do you think I should have taken the earlier signs as a reason to stop???

Lisa D. of OR wins the yummy bead for last week..this week’s bead has some really rich reds and blues with silvered ivory, a Raku based bubble eye, very organic & tactile, this bead is 30x25mm…yum, to win it leave a comment on this post...

Thanks for stopping by...Life is Good...

There will be BEADS...I promise...

Hi all, hope you are having a good week...things are good around here...I am still recovering from that pesky kidney stone...so I am a bit lazy today...

this last Saturday my parents gave a party for my birthday, we had a ton of fun, most fun was the CAKE and everything to do with the CAKE, my sister got this yummy Flowerless Chocolate Cake with a chocolate gnash frosting from Whole Foods, right after everyone sang me Happy Birthday, which I love by the way, my sister put the cake down in front of me on the coffee table & my sweet almost 2 1/2 years old niece Sophia leaned over & blew the candles out & started laughing...she is so cute I loves her lots...for the record I love all of my 5 nieces & nephews & feel so lucky to have them in my life...I would show you pictures, but I forgot my camera & for some reason dad is not able to send me his photos...it was a great day, mom made the best Persian food ever...Thanks everyone for all the love & gifts...Life Is Good...

I did manage to make some beads, I washed them, I have taken photos & I am slowly but surely adding them to my etsy shop...so keep checking back, there will be more later today & on Thursday too...here is a couple of photos of what is coming...

Sarah from Sweden wins the flower bead for last week's giveaway...this week's bead giveaway is a funky focal with a ton of color & encasing, it could be considered a landscape of sorts, I just love the colors in it, its about 27x28mm...enter to win it, make a comment on this post about what is your favorite kind of cake or desert & why...I loved that cake cause it tasted like a dream of chocolate in a bed of fudge...

thanks for stopping by...Life is Good...
