Happy 4th of July & The Escape Artist...

Happy July & hope you have a safe & great 4th of July weekend...I am taking some time off this week, I will have new beads for you next week. The Red White and Blue beads above I made years ago, I thought they would be a good one to show off for this week, wow I used make such small beads with so much detail, do you like smaller beads or larger beads...? I like them both, but lately I have been making a lot of focal beads...

Well you can not really call him an Escape Artist, as there is no art in leaving from the door of your cage that Jelveh left open & did not know she had for over 12 hours...I came downstairs Sunday morning all happy saying hello to Sammy while getting ready to leave for the De Young Museum in San Francisco to see the new King Tut exhibit, when I realized Sammy was not in his 3 story house. From the open door he had jumped about 17 inches on to the side board that his house sits on & another 33 inches down to the living room hardwood floors & then he went on an adventure I guess. We looked everywhere for him while I kept crying & hubby kept saying we will find him & he did find Sammy inside some hole he had found in a cabinet next to the the dishwasher, he had to remove the bottom part of the dishwasher & just when he was about to put a hole in the back of this dead space area to get him out, here comes Sammy, safe & sound, but very upset & screaming that he was stuck there for some time...

After some food & water & an inspection he went to sleep all happy to be back home...scared me half to death...the exhibit was fun, although I wish they had actually brought Tut with them, hubby has seen him in Egypt...

Sandy R. of TX wins the bead for last week...Some of you may know this already and you can read more about in the comments of this post, go check it out, the story is I had another bead here for giveaway this week, but I forgot to take it off of etsy to give it away & Ginny went & bought it (thanks for the purchase girl) so this is a different bead, I was going to list this next week for sale on etsy so I already had photos of it (this matters since we are in Montana & I have my lap top but no beads), its very cool, lots of silver glass & shine a sort of metallic organic nature tones of greens & gold a bit of blue, a landscape if you will, loves this bead...enter to win it by making a comment on this post, winner will be picked by the random picker on next Wednesday...

Thanks for stopping by...life is good...

Jelveh

Peace

Hmmm...I really like the bead giveaway for this week and have been thinking of buying that on etsy for some time. I went to the DeYoung recently and saw the fashion exhibit. Hoping to get to see King Tut too!!!

Hi Lovely Lady, this bead is scrummy. I LOVE the bracelet at the top of the post. Poor you waking up to an empty cage, did your heart jump into your mouth? Thank goodness for calm partners in those times. Leon ran off at Legoland the other day and I was hysterically screaching at Hubby down the phone whilst running around trying to find hi (Hubby works and hour away so why i thought he could see Leon I dont know) He was exactly where Hubby said he would be, crying! No matter how big or small our babies are or how furry, when they are not where they should be it is awful! I am so happy that he is safe and sound again, and that you had an ace time at the exhibit. Huge hugs to you and Sammy the Escapologist Mel xxxxxxx

Hi Jelveh:
Awwww, poor litle Sammy went for an adventure and got lost. Who do you think was more scared, you or Sammy?
Oh, my goodness! If that focal bead isn't the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen, then I haven't seen any beads at all!!! I absolutely LOVE it!
I am sure that I will not win that bead. I can't be *that* lucky. So would you consider making me one? I am serious!!!!

All your beads are beautiful :)
Lately I've been looking for squeeze type to lay flat in bracelets. What I really should do is hit the torch and learn/make some myself!
Sammy is the cutest hamster I've ever seen. Gavin, my 4 year old, wants to come to CA to pet him :P

Hi Jelveh, I love this bead. In fact, I too, have been considering it on etsy for weeks. My bead diet is very strict right now, so no indulging...however, if I am lucky that is a different story.

Glad you found your pet!

Have wonderful, safe, and sparkly Fourth of July.

Hi Jelveh:
I am so glad that I came back to read comments. I don't go to your Ety shop often enough. Plus, I assumed that you had already removed this bead from the listing. I guess you will have to get another bead as a give-away because I just purchased this one! LOL!

hi jelveh! i'm so glad sammy is ok. i remember in grade school i had the class hamster for the weekend and he got out of his cage; i was just sick about it and really frantic. we ended up putting a bowl of food out and he came scampering out from under the refer. maybe they are attracted to the warmth from the motors. i think i have a more difficult time with animals than humans! hopefully he won't get out again...i like your lentils and multi shaped sets but really everything you make is beautiful! you are very generous with your focal giveaways...thank you!! kind regards, lisa d., portland, oregon

Hi Jelveh,
Sammy is adorable. That is so cool that your hubby searched so much and found him! I had a kitten once that used to hide from our big cat in a space by the dishwasher.
The bead is beautiful!

Jelveh the Sammy story should be a children's book with beautiful illustrations. I can just see the look on his face when you found him. Poor Sammy. I can't imagine that anyone would not be thrilled to win any of your beautiful pieces of art. I have been following your work and your blog for a few months now and of course would like to purchase 1 of everything, unfortunately that's not possible at this time. You do very nice work and I can't wait to see what you put up when you get back. Peace

I'm not sure my entry went through the 1st time but I really think that Poor Sammy should be a cute little children's book with very vivid illustrations. Can you just see the look on his poor little scared face, that would be adorable. Jelveh, I can't imagine that anyone would be disappointed winning any of your pieces. You do lovely work and as much as I have followed your shop and wanted to buy one of all, I must currently restrain for now. Have fun traveling and I'm sure Ginny and Sandy are both pleased with their pieces. Peace to you.

I love your beads. You have quite the artistic eye and a great feel for what looks great. It is wonderful that you give all of us a chance to win your art beads. Thank you. And many blessed years ahead for you.
