Earth Quake Weather & New Beads...

It’s a nice day here in Northern California…the sun keeps coming & going, in between I take pictures of beads & hope it will last only a few more minutes, the air is kind of warm not so cold, but the sky acts like it might rain any minute...we could use the rain here, summer has not even started & everything is already dry & parched. This kind of gray sky kind of warm weather I call Earth Quake weather, I know there is no such thing, but I swear every earth quake we have had here has been during this kind of weather...

This past week we saw the most funny movie Land of the lost, it was really funny & worth it, we also saw Disney’s Up, I cried & cried, loved the movie. Rest of the time I did a lot of shipping & on the weekend we mostly relaxed & enjoyed our life, oh yeah we bought a new bed & bed side tables, last year we had sold our furniture when we went to England, so it’s been kind of fun putting the house back together slowly...

I made some yummy beads too which you can find listed in my etsy shop, not as many as I would have liked to make, it’s still a bit hard for me to hang out at the torch for a long time & yesterday I cut & then burned my left index finger then burned my right index finger, just so you know this is not considered a bad day when it comes to bead making as this kind of thing can & does happen, a bad day would be when you drop a half rod of hot melted piece of glass down in the pocket of your (thank god) cotton apron & burn your phone a bit, so that’s when I stopped, do you think I should have taken the earlier signs as a reason to stop???

Lisa D. of OR wins the yummy bead for last week..this week’s bead has some really rich reds and blues with silvered ivory, a Raku based bubble eye, very organic & tactile, this bead is 30x25mm…yum, to win it leave a comment on this post...

Thanks for stopping by...Life is Good...

Jelveh

Peace…

Hi Jelveh. I took my daughter to see Up the day before her 5th birthday. We both loved it! I loved Alpha's voice :0 How do they come up with the storyline? It is so much more than the advertisements. Hope your burns heal quickly.

Hi Jelveh,

Hope you get well soon! That was indeed a day to kick back instead of melt glass. Take Good Care of you! Sue

Ow! Burns! Still shocks me every time. I had a glass rod pop the other day and a hot piece of glass, just a tiny bit, flew clean down my top and landed on my right boob! Oooh- that smarted, I can tell you.

Great bead - very atmospheric.

Hope the burns heal quick.

Thanks Melissa, they were so small they were gone by the next day...you can see in a couple of the bead photos the cut on the index finger, by that point there was no pain...all good...

Oh yes acptuser, it was a better day, I spent the entire day with my sister, her kids and my mom on Thursday, we had a blast...

Thanks Dee, you are too kind...

Hey Stef, I know it was so much fun, every once in a while Disney gets one right...oh the burns were gone by dinner...in the bead making world, they were so small...thanks girl

Thanks Sue, life is good, I am doing great...

Thanks Joy, I use this stuff called Lavender Gardeners Salve by Bonny Doon Farms near Santa Cruz, I love it, here is what they say about it, and you can get it on their web site at http://www.bonnydoonfarm.com/catalog/page1.html

Lavender Gardeners Salve, While still the gardening necessity, our salve has also proven to be very effective in healing dry elbows, knees, heels, hands and cuticles. Contains Pure and Extra Virgin olive oil, pharmaceutical grade cocoa butter and premium beeswax.

Oh Laura girl, boob ones are harsh, hope you did not get too burned, I have a couple of spot from past burns right on the middle of the boobs, once I was teaching class, 6 students, 2 guys, 4 girls, well I did the same thing, it was a rather large piece & I had to go after it, it was stuck in my bra, I just turned around screaming & took of my shirt...no one saw anything but my back, but still it was not so much fun getting naked first day of class, I am sure the students were like wow, I wonder what she will do the second day, we have kind of already seen her boobs already...the burns are gone...all is good...

I dont know who the last person is, but thanks for the kind comments...

Jelveh and Laura, I know hot glass is nothing to laugh about, but I snorted tea out of my nose at you posts. Jelveh did you find that more men turned up to your second call to see what the encore would be ~giggle~ sorry it is not funny to hurt yourself.
Seriously though, Jelveh I hope that you are on the mend, and Laura I wish your boobies well too! Loves Melxxxxxxx
