Hi all, hope you are keeping cool in the midst of this summer's heat wave...we are doing well here, life is very good & busy, went to the best party ever for my sisters 40th, she is so cute, does not look a day over 29...we saw the movie Horrible Bosses...it was funny, perhaps even more so for us since hubby & I have both worked for such people in the past & you probably have too, life is full of difficult people...
life is good...I made beads...

I have listed a few sets of beads to my etsy shop  below is a photo of the new beads...

Quote of the Week: A feature I had for years on my weekly newsletter, many of you remember I am sure, but for some reason I stopped it, well its back...here is this week's Quote: I find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe. By the Dalai Lama

While you are checking out Graceful Customs stop by their shop and check out this new great tool...I a have been having a ton of fun with it...

Winner of last week's bead is Meredith, please send your address. This time I have a lovely fish bead (if I say so myself) for the blog giveaway...enter to win by making a comment on this post...maybe you can help me out with my photo question, white background or gray rock background?

Scrumptious fish bead! I really like the rock background for this particular bead as it gives it depth and a great way to guess the width of the bead. Fishee-beadness looks like it's swimming around on the bottom of a clear-water, shallow pond. :)

I agree that the fish looks like it's swimming around - very nice effect. Thanks for the tip on the tool - I also like the tool you have in your shop. For whatever reason I never thought about making glass beads on skeleton keys! As soon as hubby improved my ventilation I will have to come pick up one of those tools!

Hi sweet Jelveh, Love this little girl, she would make a good mate for my boy fish that I got months ago. Oh would Gus love for Gaga to have a fishie necklace. He is totally infatuated with my pieces. I haven't received the past 2 newsletters, haven't a clue why. There is a set in your shop I would love for you to hold for me. I'm loving this black that you're using!! Finally designing again and may have a little surprise for you. Take care and hope you are all well.

Jelveh, I love this fish. We just put a pond on our property and bought some koi to stock it with. This fish would be great to add to the collection even if he isn't real. Hope all is well.

Sue, You will love your Koi pond! We put one in years ago and there's nothing like sitting out there in the middle of nature with a book or a bead board or just a pile of beads on a blanket with a sketchboard. I might warn you about any water features such as a spitting frog or constant running water sound. I end up going in and out of the house quite a bit! I hope you enjoy your's as much as we do our's.

Love your beads, I must come to Gilroy (I live in La Selva Beach) and check out your studio. I like the white background for displaying your beautiful work.

Dear Jelveh,

I`ve been looking at your designs for quite some time and I hope I´ll finally make my way to the Glass Furnace. I`ve made just one glass bead in my life but after that I knew I just have to learn it! And I like the photos of beads on white background more because the stones take too many attention away from the beads. Your beads are really beautiful and outstanding! Thank you for interesting blog and wonderful pics!

Thanks for all the great comments about the fish and the photos everyone. I thunk I am going back to the white background. Harder to do but better to see the beads.
Vivian, love to see you at the glass furnace this September. The class I am teaching is from the 10 to 17 one week and a day off to shoi at the bazaar. It Is great place. Lovely grounds. Great workshops. Contact Elif for more information on the class. Thanks for the kind words.
