Jelveh Designs Key Mandrel...

Hi Everyone, I’m so thrilled to announce that I am now selling the brand new Jelveh Designs Key Mandrel. I designed and manufactured this wonderful tool to enable you to secure a skeleton key (or anything with a hole that you want to wrap glass around!) and wrap perfectly round beads around it while working in the flame.

I had the first Jelveh Designs Key Mandrel made over a year ago by a good friend of mine who is a master machinist. I have been testing it for durability & reliability since then before offering it to you. It is one of the coolest tools that I have in my bead-making toy box…especially since skeleton key beads are all the rage right now!

The Jelveh Designs Key Mandrel is made out of stainless steel, and the skeleton key is secured by a simple hex screw and washer assembly. I am also offering an Allen wrench for a small additional fee, though you can use any standard 9/64 sized Allen wrench if you prefer.

The cost to you?…only $12 plus shipping for the mandrel alone, and I’ll throw in the Allen wrench for an additional $1 if you request it. Each mandrel will also come with an additional screw and washer in case you lose one.

Ok on to the winner of last week's bead which is Mel P. send me your address girl...this week's winner will get the key bead in the photo above, not the key Mandrel...enter to win the key bead by making a comment on this post...

I have listed some new beads and key beads today as well...to see them stop by my etsy shop here...

thanks for stopping by...life is good...

Jelveh

Peace

Hi Jevleh,

I really like the key beads. I recently bought some keys, but I'll need to send them to you for beads since I don't melt my own glass.

Have a great week. Hope I win this week!

Hi Jelveh:
Well, aren't you the smart one! That is a very useful tool that you designed! I bet you will sell a lot of those! If I were a glass bead artist, I would certainly buy one! Alas, I am not. I only make jewelry using your beauties!

How nifty is that tool! I'm not a torcher so I'll just enjoy the beads after they are cooled. Great idea!

Thanks Nancy, be in the mail by Monday...love to know what you think of it...

Thanks Kristen, it is a very cool tool to have while making Key Beads...

Hey Sue, send them over and let me know what you want on them...I just bought a bunch of keys in Reno at a few antique shops as I am running out of the ones I got in England last year...

thanks Ginny girl, I know you would get one if you melted glass, by the way after all these years how come you are not melting glass? thanks for the good words, you are too kind...

Hey Suzi, get one you may end up loving it...

Thanks Shana, when making the first key beads I realized that there was no way to make a round bead around the key without some kind of mandrel...if you ever decide to make some beads let me know, I love teaching...

Thanks Verde, I just love this tool...

I think I'll get a mandrel kit for a dear friend who lampworks. She keeps telling me she'll make me some keys with beads. I've collected over 50 antique skeleton keys for her to make me some. Maybe she'll get around to it if I present this as a gift.

PS. How do I sign up to win a kit or a key bead?

What a brilliant idea! What size mandrel is it? Am just wondering if I could use my EMS with it. Not that it matters all that much. :-)
