Casualties of Moving...

I have the best hubby ever, he practically packed this whole house and got us ready to move all on his own, the movers came today and all of our stuff is on its way to America... When I was torching last week, he was behind me in the studio (garage) helping me pack my glass, he said these wont fit in the tubes and i was not looking so I said oh yeah ASK glass they are longer than the normal rods, just use my glass cutters...I guess I should have said to cut them in half...not being a glass bead maker himself, he did not know that it would be best to cut them in half and not just at the tips...

This glass is now discontinued as many of you know, I use my stash of it sparingly, specially this color the Mediterranean Olive...he felt so bad, but what can you say, the guy is a gem and things like this happen...we laughed about it...I thought i share with you just one casualty of moving...no worries, I will melt them back in to larger working rods...

Peace

Love the colour, they look like crayons. Bless him for trying, my hubby has done stuff like that it's impossible to be mad when they are trying to be helpful.

Aw! Poor Martin. And your poor glass.

Sad, but slightly amusing at the same time! ;o)

That color is wonderful! Good thing you can melt them back together! :) That was really nice of him to help you! They do try, and that's great! :)

Oh no!

I tried to find a short rod holder for you, but I guess Merikal is no longer making them? Or hemostats?

There's a photo of a possible help here:

Hi Jelveh:
That color of glass is one of my favorites as you well know. However, Martin is a favorite, too. I bet he felt just terrible. He was trying to help. I am glad that you laughed about it. Poor guy!

Jelveh, THANK YOU!!!! As soon as I get your weekly emails, I immediately check out your blogs ... They are always fun and uplifting. Imagine my delight when I found out that I won last week's bead - and such a gorgeous one it is:) You and hubby are indeed blessed, and I am thankful that you share your positive perspectives and adventures with all of us.

Ginny girl----I know you love that color, I do too...it is such a rare color in glass, other companies try but never get it right...but yes we laughed and I put it all in a bag & will melt it in to some yummy bead at a later date...as I always say life is too short to worry about this stuff...and who could be mad at hubby, he is the best...

Jo----I am so glad that you like the bead, you are welcome...and I am glad that I my blog makes you happy girl...we always believe that there are too many negative things out there already, no reason to add to them...life at its core is good & so are all people, so that is how we live it...I will have your bead in the post today...

Hi Jelveh,
My daughter's visit is coming to an end and we really enjoyed having her here even though the weather wasn't great every day. She helped design the Turquoise Lime Spritzer bracelet which was very fun. Can't wait to get your new set after we return from Portland 4/2.

My daughter has kindly consented to crochet the little clutch style purse which will be adorned with your beautiful flower bead. We've planned an ivory color yarn with a pearl lame thread running through it. It should be stunning. I'll send a photo when it's finished.

I hope there were no more mishaps with the glass during your move, and that you're getting settled in CA now.
Aloha,
Lee
